It is a Premium Ruby of around 5 years old made by carefully selecting and blending wines that have been aged over a long period in the Burmester cellars. A tribute to the spirit and passion of the Burmester women for Music and Art. Delicate and young, this wine is marked by its fruity and intense character. It is silky and warm in the mouth, with a long and persistent finish.

Soil - Graywacke schist complex.
Exposure - North winds, facing South.
Varieties - Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela,
Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Roriz.

Average annual Yield - 39 hl/ha.
Winemaking - Fermented in stainless steel tanks at 26-27ºC, then naturally fortified with grape spirit (77% vol) - 80% must and 20% spirit - at Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo. Intense maceration and gentle automatic pumping over.
Ageing - In the Vila Nova de Gaia lodges it is first aged in oak vats and blended after 5 years in stainless steel tanks. Gently filtered before bottling.

In 1834, the young Johann Wilhelm Burmester took over the family Port business. Of his 9 children, Luiza Elysabeth, the eldest, dedicated her afternoons to singing and the piano, and her mornings to French and painting. Sotto Voce is an Italian expression applied to the voice, meaning a soft and extremely delicate tone. Sotto Voce Reserve is a tribute to the Burmester women’s passion for Music and Art.

Appearance - Closed, red and full-bodied.
On the Nose - Fruity, initially marked by aromas of raspberries, blackberries and black current enveloped by scents of toasted cocoa and chocolate.
In the mouth - Young, full of intense ripe fruit, full-bodied, velvety and warm. Touches of vanilla and chocolate and a long and persistent finish.
Storage, Serving, Drinking and Food
Storage - Store upright in a dark, cool place (14º to 16ºC).
Serving - Should be served at a temperature of 14-15ºC, in the Burmester tulip glass or an OIV - approved tasting glass.
Drinking - It is best drunk the day the bottle is opened, but will keep for up to 12 months.
Food - The perfect companion to chocolate desserts.
