Blandy´s Madeira
Die Geschichte der Madeira Wine Company als Zusammenschluß verschiedener Produzenten geht zurück auf das Jahr 1913. In den 80iger Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts erkannte die Familie Blandy, dass sie einen starken Partner braucht um das eigene Profil zu entwickeln und die weltweite Distribution voran zu bringen.
Die Familie Symington, bekannt aus der Portweinbranche, konnte dieses Profil zur Verfügung stellen. 1989 gründeten die Familien Blandy und Symington ein Joint Venture.
Es folgten Investitionen in die Kellertechnik, Weinberg und in den Stammsitz, nicht nur um einen führende Qualität herzustellen, sondern auch um Besuchern ein erinnerungswürdiger Ambiente zu schaffen.

Blandy's Malmsey Harvest is selected from some of the finest Malmsey wines from a single year and then aged in oaks. These wines underwent the natural "canteiro" warming process in the lofts of the old Blandy Wine Lodge. The warming was exclusively from the natural temperatures of the sub-tropical climate on Madeira. No artificial heating was used.
